Michael Stevenson (born November 19, 1989 in Compton, California), better known by his stage name Tyga, is an American hip hop artist signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment and Decaydance. He is the cousin of Travis McCoy, lead vocalist of the group Gym Class Heroes. In 2006 he released his first mixtape, Young on Probation, and released his debut studio album, No Introduction, in 2008.

He has since released a further six mixtapes, with the latest being 2010’s Fan Of A Fan Mixtape with R&B artist Chris Brown, and plans to release his seventh mixtape, Well Done, during the fall of 2010. His second album, Careless World is scheduled sometime late 2010 or early 2011. His song “Diamond Life” was featured on the Madden NFL 09 soundtrack, and was also included in the Need for Speed Undercover soundtrack.

lloyd
Lloyd Polite Jr. (born January 3, 1986 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American R&B singer, rapper, dancer and actor signed to a joint venture between Interscope and his own label Young Goldie Music. First discovered at the age of 12 when in the group N-Toon with his brother, he released his debut album Southside in 2004. He has since released 2007’s Street Love and 2008’s Lessons in Love. He has also released three mixtapes, and plans to release his fourth studio album sometime in 2010.

He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 3, 1986, to Robin Polite and Lloyd Polite Sr. His father died when he was at the age of two, and he moved with his mother and older sister Brandy to Atlanta, Georgia.

Lloyd was discovered by Joyce Irby in 1996 and at the age of 14 was in the pre-teen group N-Toon, alongside younger brother Chuckie. The group won Nickelodeon’s cancelled show Double Dare 2000 against No Authority, and the group was signed to DreamWorks Records. Although two singles were released (“Ready” and “Shoulda Been My Girl”), their debut album Toon Time went unnoticed due to a lack of promotion from the label. The group eventually disbanded, and Lloyd began shopping around for a solo deal. He was soon signed to MCA Records with his first single to be “Young Girl”. Unfortunately, as MCA Records dissolved into its parent company, Geffen Records, many of the artists on its roster were let go, including Lloyd. However, using “Young Girl” as a demo, he landed a new recording contract with Irv Gotti at The Inc./Def Jam Records.

“Southside”, a duet with label mate Ashanti, became Lloyd’s debut single and an R&B hit. The video was number one on BET’s 106 & Park, where Lloyd and Ashanti performed the song live. The follow-up single was “Hey Young Girl”, which wasn’t as successful as “Southside”. His childhood friend Ciara was in the video, and he is in the video of her hit “1, 2 Step”. Both singles appeared on his 2004 debut album, titled Southside, which performed relatively poorly. A third single was never announced. After that, Lloyd appeared singing hooks on singles for label mate Ja Rule on “Caught Up” as well as on rapper Tango Redd’s “Let’s Cheat”. He also made an appearance in R&B singer Sammie’s video “You Should Be My Girl”.

In 2006, a newly-recorded track titled “You” surfaced, featuring Lil Wayne (an alternate version featured Tango Redd). The single gained airplay on BET Late and it was #1 on 106 & Park. Lloyd’s second studio album, titled Street Love, was released on March 13, 2007. The second single “Get It Shawty” was also very successful, reaching the top twenty on the pop charts. By the time the third single “Player’s Prayer” was released, interest in the album had diminished. and with lack of promotion the song proved to be unsuccessful.

Blue Jay's Home Opener!!!!

Toronto knows that winter is finally over and spring is officially here when the Jay's are back on the plate. Our Toronto Blue Jays kick off there season this Friday April 1st for the official Honda Opening Night against the Minnesota Twins. Tickets are already sold out for this big event.  If you still want to be part of the party downtown for what is sure to be the start of spring celebration here are a list of the best bars downtown to watch your beloved Blue Jay's.

Real Sports Bar & Grill - With an enormous two-storey-high mega screen, televisions everywhere, great food, and cold beer; this bar has quickly become one of Toronto hottest sports bars.  Located directly beside the ACC and Rogers Center this is the perfect place to watch all the games. 25,000 square  199 HD screens and private viewing booths are likely to have any Jay's fan coming back for more.

Graffti's - Kensington market is not trendy, it is where the trends come from -- and Graffiti's, in the heart of the market, seems to have a unique definition of a good time. Everything from the dancing Elvis at the bar to the mural depicting rock music legends suggests Graffiti's is a rock bar, but it has a few secrets. Some evenings live poetry and open stage nights, where anything goes, take over from the live bands that usually grace the stage. The atmosphere is casual and the regulars, some of whom seem more of a fixture at the bar than the taps, are very loyal.

The Dizzy - Located in Roncesvalles Village, The Dizzy serves high-end pub food in a sports bar setting. Their menu is inspired by classic French bistro offerings: steak frites, rustic chicken, seafood ravioli and cordon blue jay (chicken cordon bleu) served alongside burgers, wings and ribs. Sports fans can enjoy a televised game with a whiskey or draught beer.

Hoops - Located around the corner from Toronto's former hockey shrine, this place is called, naturally enough, Hoops. With TV's in the booths, a whole whack of satellite dishes, and a great vibe, Hoops has survived the closing of the Gardens to become a beloved local sports bar. Karaoke nights are popular, and so are the ribs.

Opera Bob's Public House - Cold delicious beers on tap and a wide variety in the cooler. The New Bar on Dundas just east of Ossington, beside The Lakeview Lunch, is getting known quickly as a hot spot for wholesome food and great live entertainment. The menu has a wide variety of crock pot dishes, pot pies, the best bacon cheese dip you'll ever have, and many other items suitable for meals, snacks or sharing. Every Saturday, there will be live entertainment by The Unknown Culprits, Adrian Parks and many others. Opera Bob's is great for any occasion whether your ready to party or just take a load off, have a beer, and get something to eat.

St. Patty's Day!!!!

With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, here's a list of the most authentic Irish Pubs around the city to enjoy your Patty's Day the Irish way.

Pogue Mahone, a proud member of Toronto’s Irish Pub Family (including Foggy Dew, The Pour House and Murphy’s Law) is a great spot to stop in for a pint of Guinness or authentic Irish grub, such as the such as the Irish Fry and Corned Beef Hash on their weekend brunch menu. If you can’t kiss a Blarney Stone this year, you can always kiss their Blarney Burger!

P.J. O'Brien's is a friendly Irish pub that serves up loads of beer and grub like Homemade Irish Sausages and Guinness BBQ Ribs. The upstairs Fireplace Bar is a cozy getaway for those opting for a more intimate celebration.

The Irish Embassy is definitely Irish – even down to the newspapers they stock at the front. Situated inside an old bank building and smack dab on the corner of Yonge and Wellington, this spectacular pub is close to nightlife and all forms of transit, ensuring a safe ride home from the festivities. It’s a short walk to Union Station, King Subway Station and several streetcar routes. Check out their giant selection of beers!

Grace O'Malley's, a recent addition to Toronto’s Irish pub scene is named after one of Ireland’s most famous noblewomen. The dimly lit pub is massive with a big stage that hosts popular Irish and East Coast acts like Signal Hill, several nights a week. If you were hoping to perform your annual Irish jig, there’s tons of room to dance.

Watermark has the best view of all Irish pubs in Toronto due to its prime location on the waterfront. The Watermark is fast becoming a Toronto favourite due to its authentic Irish ales including Guinness, Smithwick’s, Kilkenny, and Harp and non-touristy meal prices including $5 appetizer specials during Monday night cocktail hour.

Molly Blooms - This student-friendly chain of Irish pubs is found in several university towns across Ontario and serves up cheap pints of beer, menu items like Guinness Battered Fish and Chips and more. Self-described as an old style pub with a modern day twist, Molly Bloom’s features entertainment like karaoke on Mondays and football parties. Check their website for a running countdown to the big day.

Brazen Head’s the newest Irish pub on the scene and one of the latest nightspots to hit the booming Liberty Village. It serves up plenty of Guinness, draught beers and traditional Irish pub fare and has live music downstairs every Saturday. The upstairs Poet’s Pub has awesome views of the city. Rumour has it, there are tons of singles from surrounding condos, so if you’re on the market, keep this pub in mind.

BEAUTIFUL GIRLS AND GTL!!!

March is definitely the kick off to the party season!! With reading week, spring break and the weather warming out...it feels like every weekend is a can't miss event. Here are a couple of the latest attractions coming to the city this week!!

Mike "Situation" @ Luxy Club March 5 - Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino found instant fame on MTV's hit reality series Jersey Shore. The world let The Situation into their homes and he soon become a pop icon.  Best know for his rock hard abs, The Situations dating rituals have taken the world by storm.  GTL (Gym, Tan, Laundry), Grenade, DTF, and so many more have made Mike unstoppable. The Situation is ready to move from the Jersey Shore house onto bigger and better things. Already appearing on Dancing with the Stars, he started his own vodka company, and is set to hit the big screen soon!!  Don't miss the chance to see this reality sensation in his natural habitat up close and personal in Vaughn at 60 Interchange Way.

Sean Kingston @ The Guvernment March 11 - A self-proclaimed product of his past, rapper Sean Kingston's history helps describe his sound. Born in Miami, FL, then raised in Kingston, Jamaica, from the age of six, he mixed more than a little dancehall and reggae into his hip-hop. The hard lyrics come from a hard life, which included incarceration, homelessness, and growing up a lot faster than he should have. His young parents didn't play teen pop or teen rap while he was being raised, so he absorbed the adult lyrics of Buju Banton, Ice Cube, and Rakim. He also lived the lyrics and landed a breaking-and-entering charge at age 11. Twenty-one days in jail, boot camp, and living in a car while his mother was incarcerated on an identity fraud rap all followed. None of it swayed the youth against hustling; it just pointed him in a different, more lucrative direction. Taking his ability to write rhymes and hooks, he started working Miami's talent show and showcase circuit hard, eventually sharing the stage with Pitbull, Ludacris, and Trick Daddy. Producer Jonathan "J.R." Rotem (Britney Spears, 50 Cent, Rihanna) caught his demo and signed the young rapper to his Beluga Heights record label right before the major-label bidding wars were to begin. The Sony imprint Epic won and introduced their new artist in the spring of 2007 with the single "Colors 2007" featuring the Game and Rick Ross. Although he sounded much older, Kingston was only 16 years old when the track landed. With his second single, "Beautiful Girls," he took a sample of Ben E. King's "Stand by Me" and twisted it into a huge hit. This more polished, smoother, and less hardcore stance suited the singer and figured heavily into his self-titled debut full-length.

Danny Fernandes @ The Guvernment March 11 - In two short years Danny has catapulted to stardom. His first two singles "Private Dancer" and "Fantasy" have both gone gold and blown up the airwaves. Along with his hit singles, Danny released three back-to-back 1 videos, which earned him 5 nominations at the 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards. Danny took home Best Pop Video Of The Year for "Private Dancer" at this year's MMVAs and also walked away as the Best Male Artist of the Year at the 2009 Top Choice Awards. After relentlessly touring with some of the biggest acts in the industry including Akon, Flo Rida, Sean Kinston and Girlicious, Danny Fernandes has become not only one of the hardest working artists, but also one of the top live acts in the country. Never resting, Danny still finds time to travel across Canada to meet his fans as one of the judges on YTV's Karaoke Star Junior, evaluating the nations best young talent.
